Question

Something that I have been thinking about a lot is that I started to take IM courses late and to be honest, every time I think about grad school applications, I feel like I don’t have enough projects or experiences that make me a competitive candidate. I was wondering whether it would be better for me to take some time off to work on my own projects, build up a stronger portfolio and then apply or if I should just shoot for the stars and see if I land on the moon.

Prototype 1

For this first prototype, I wanted to explore the ways people could interact with computers to learn techniques for conflict resolution. I read some of the handouts of the MIT OpenCourse Negotiation and Conflict Management alongside the book The Big Book of Conflict Resolution Games by Mary Scanell. Both readings reaffirmed the importance of games as a learning mechanism for conflict resolution strategies since they are low risk and they generate the conditions that usually lead to conflict (competition, lose-win situations, etc).
